I trust this message finds you well. I am writing to apprise you of several critical matters that demand your attention, cooperation, and collective action.
CANCELLATION OF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING (SGM) WITHOUT A SET DATE:-
It is with deep regret that I must announce the cancellation of the Special General Meeting originally slated for September 02, 2023. This unfortunate cancellation has arisen due to a lack of quorum, resulting in the postponement of critical matters. I earnestly implore all esteemed members to actively engage in such gatherings, as they hold a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of PALPA. Your participation remains instrumental in shaping our Association’s path forward.
PODF TRUST AMENDMENT:-
We have uncovered certain unauthorized alterations to the PODF Trust Deed by the current Chairman and Trustees of PODF without the notification to all the members in writing as per rules. The name of the Trust has been changed in highly clandestine manner, followed by assets from PALPA Pilots’ Occupational Disability Fund to Pilots’ Occupational Disability Fund Trust. These revisions were implemented in violation of established regulations, including both the initial Trust Deed and the bylaws of PODF. Astonishingly, neither the President of PALPA (a permanent trustee of PODF), nor the DFO of PIA were made privy to these modifications. This is a matter of utmost concern, and we urge all members to consider this issue with the seriousness it deserves. We are actively investigating this situation and will diligently work towards its rectification, prioritizing the best interests of our members. PENSION ISSUE:-
On a more positive note, I am pleased to inform you that PALPA has made significant progress in addressing the longstanding pension issue. We have successfully negotiated with the management of PIA regarding the calculation of pension based on the last drawn salary principal. To streamline this process and avoid any confusion, we kindly request that members refrain from direct communication with the management on pension-related matters. Instead, both myself and our President are available to address any queries or concerns, which you may have.
ALLEGED FAKE LICENSE ISSUE OF PILOTS:-
By the grace of Almighty ALLAH, another achievement is the release of all pilots from the stigma of “fake licenses” due to the efforts of the Executive Committee of PALPA and Senate Aviation Committee’s due indulgence. Hence due to our efforts now all pilots have been exonerated from the stigma of the “fake licenses”.
Please be assured that our commitment to the betterment of the pilot community remains unwavering. However, we can only achieve our goals through unity and collective efforts. Your support and active participation in PALPA activities are pivotal to our success. Let us stand together, uphold the principles that define our Association, and work towards a brighter future for all pilots.
