Dear Members, السلام عليكم

This is to inform the PALPA membership that Constitution Petition No. D-999 of 2026, along with the constitutional petitions filed by other retired employees of PIACL, was taken up today by the Divisional Bench of the Honourable Sindh High Court.

The primary objective of our petition is to seek relief for our members. Earlier, the Honourable Sindh High Court had granted an interim stay, directing PIAHCL to continue providing medical facilities as per Personnel Policies Manual dated 30th June 2024, as per clause 20.02.37 (Medical Facilities for Pilots Crew Medical Center).

However, as PIACL/PIAHCL have not been complying with the Court's order, a Contempt of Court application was subsequently filed.

During today's proceedings, the Honourable Bench noted that Respondent No. 4, the State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the provision of medical benefits for retired employees of the former PIACL. The Court has directed both State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan and PIAHCL to submit the duly approved and signed MoU.

The matter has been adjourned and is now scheduled for hearing on April 29, 2026 at 11:00 AM. The Court has further ordered that the interim relief granted earlier shall continue until the next date of hearing.

The Executive Committee will keep the membership posted on the progress of this Petition.

With Best Regards,

Capt (Retd) Arif Majeed
GENERAL SECRETARY
