This is to apprise the membership regarding the meeting held with the CEO PIAHCL on 10th June 2026, attended by President and General Secretary PALPA along with some other participants. The meeting was requested for by PALPA to discuss issues concerning PIA pensioners.
- MEDICAL: – PALPA strongly urged for the implementation of the decision of Honourable High Court of Sindh’s Order in CP No. 999 of 2026 and demanded restoration of medical facilities in accordance with the PIACL Act, 2016 and PPM Chapter 20. The CEO informed the meeting that PIA has challenged the Court Order; to which PALPA stated that no such development has taken place or communicated to its legal counsel. PALPA reiterated that pensioners are entitled to medical facilities under the applicable law and regulations and will continue pursuing the matter until a lawful and satisfactory resolution of the matter is achieved.
- PASSAGE: – The issue of passage facilities, including interline travel for pensioners, was discussed. The CEO informed the participants that the matter is under consideration and requires completion of certain procedural requirements. PALPA emphasized that pensioners should continue to receive their entitled passage benefits without any changes or unnecessary delays.
- PENSION: – PALPA highlighted the difficulties faced by pensioners, particularly elderly pensioners, in complying with verification and other procedural requirements. It was emphasized that all such processes should be made simple, convenient and pensioner-friendly. The CEO assured that facilitation would be provided wherever required, and all efforts would be made to make things simpler and better.
PALPA remains committed to protecting the rights and interests of its members and pensioners and shall keep the membership informed of further developments.
