Dear Members,

As the Holy Month of Ramadan comes to an end, we express our gratitude to our entire Membership in their stalwart support of our struggle to ensure safer and better working conditions in terms of remuneration and services. It is a universally acknowledged fact that now, of our country’s four (4) major airlines, the pilots of PIA are the least paid — in fact, on average, our salaries stand at 50% that of comparable airlines for comparable years of service.

Nevertheless, on this auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, we regard it our duty towards our passengers, to ensure unhampered smooth flight operation, and hence confidently request our Membership to go the extra mile and extend full cooperation within the prescribed legal safety ambit, which has always been our top priority.

In due acknowledgement and appreciation, Capt. Asif Gilani, Chief of Flight Operations, who has always steadfastly supported all legitimate concerns of those upon whom flight operations depend, has now confidently assured us he will do his utmost to secure for PIA pilots a package commensurate with the honour, position and prestige of our national carrier and appropriately competitive with other comparable airlines.

To confirm and consolidate this effort, and as a token of our earnest and goodwill in the matter, PALPA has undertaken to continue and sustain, until Friday 26th May 2023, the maximum flexibility in Pilot co-operation with flight operations — while remaining within the prescribed legal safety ambit.

EID MUBARAK TO ALL — May you all have a blessed Eid.

With Best Regards,

Executive Committee
