Dear Members, السلام عليكم

It has come to the attention of the Executive Committee that there appears to be a general misconception regarding Life Membership of PALPA. In order to clarify the position, it is reiterated that, under the Constitution of PALPA, the definition of a Pilot Member is as follows:

Quote

2.1.1. PILOT MEMBERS
“Any person who is a Pakistani National and is a regularly employed or retired/medically grounded Pilot in Pakistan International Airlines Corporation and whose purpose is aligned with those of the Association shall be eligible for membership of the Association subject to the completion of the procedure prescribed herein.”

Un-Quote

It is further clarified that a member who fails to fulfil the financial and other obligations prescribed under the Constitution and PALPA Rules shall cease to meet the requisite conditions for continuing as a Pilot Member. Since being a Pilot Member is a fundamental and mandatory condition for PALPA membership, the issue of Life Membership cannot arise independently of, or in the absence of, the requisite membership status.

For the avoidance of any doubt, PALPA House (formerly known as PALPA Club House) is the property of the Pakistan Airline Pilots’ Association and is administered and managed by the Executive Committee in accordance with the Constitution and applicable PALPA Rules. Decisions duly taken by the Executive Committee within its constitutional authority are binding upon all members of the Association.

The Executive Committee further reserves the right to regulate and determine admission to PALPA House in respect of any member, family member, or guest(s), strictly in accordance with the applicable PALPA Rules and the authority vested in the Executive Committee under the Constitution.

This clarification is issued for the information and guidance of all concerned and to avoid any further misunderstanding regarding membership rights, Life Membership, and access to PALPA House..

With Best Regards,

Capt. (Retd.) Arif Majeed
GENERAL SECRETARY
