The Federal Government has imposed a Federal Excise Duty on all domestic staff tickets @ Rs 2,500/- per sector. Traditionally this tax was computed in percentage of the Gross published fare and was being paid by all employees. To make matters worse, the Federal Government has also legislated that the ACTUAL fare (full price) of each and every concessional free ticket availed will be treated as a part of the TAXABLE SALARY.
We have informed the higher management that this unjustified imposition of tax on our privileges is not acceptable under any circumstances and the higher management should either get this issue resolved with the Government of Pakistan or the airline should absorb this additional cost.
We have requested the higher management to address this issue urgently as any delay could lead to a situation which may hamper the smooth running of the airline operations.
