The Executive Committee draws its strength from the members. All of you are aware of the fact that in order to protect and achieve our objectives, we have always demonstrated unity and confidence in PALPA.
The management quarters are spreading rumours that PALPA Executive Committee is divided and is not working towards the member’s interest. These rumours are absolutely baseless. There maybe a difference of opinion amongst the elected office bearers but once it comes to the core issues like FED on Tickets, Contract over the age of 60, criteria for promotions, implementation of PALPA-PIAC Working Agreement 2011-2013, travel facility, base of your choice, hotels for layover approved by the PALPA Executive Committee, Seniority etc. we stand unified on matters of principle and cannot compromise at any cost.
We have also started raising issues on the Aviation Policy, Code Sharing with the Etihad Airways, reservation with PCAA and the ineligibility of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Aviation, to have been awarded this portfolio in contravention of court orders and his questionable credentials to hold this office.
It is pertinent to mention here that the source of all the problems that our members are facing is the incumbent Director Flight Operations. He has totally flouted the PALPA-PIAC Working Agreement 2011-2013 and has wrongly assured the higher management that pilots are not united and the management can get away with anything. A glaring example is the hiring of instructors on contract who are also operating normal flights on A-320.
It is in times like these that history will judge and remember us, so let us unite as a cohesive force to be remembered as a community that can come out unscathed and stronger from every crisis engineered to dismantle our core. You are thus urged to positively attend the Special General Meeting on the 14th September 2015 to help map out the further course of actions for the Executive Committee, to uphold the supremacy of the Working Agreement now that the push has come to shove.
