ALL PALPA MEMBERS:
السلام عليكم
The much talked about and awaited Board of Directors meeting, to decide about the contractual employment of pilots up to the age 65 years was held on the 25th July 2015.
The Executive Committee has learned through various sources that the Board of Directors/Human Resource Committee has deferred the hiring of pilots on contract issue for the time being, and has asked for clarification from the management on serious issues highlighted by us through PALPA’s letter to the Board Members and Chairman.
PALPA has been highlighting its stance against contractual employment in print, electronic, and social media, yet at the same time we have been advocating that the superannuation age be enhanced to 65 years as this will not jeopardize safety and will also prevent migration of our experienced pilots to other airlines.
The President & the Executive Committee would like to thank the Board of Directors for giving a serious consideration to the concerns of PALPA and would also like to assure them that as always PIA pilots will go beyond the call of duty for the betterment of our National Flag Carrier.
With Best Regards,
Capt. Sohail Ahmed
GENERAL SECRETARY
